Artificial Intelligence and Pharmacy

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is a technology that can contribute to the development of several areas of the pharmaceutical sector. The objective of this work was to describe aspects related to artificial intelligence and pharmacy through a narrative review that considered the selection of documentary sources that were critically analyzed. The information was structured considering the applications of artificial intelligence in pharmacy, challenges, limitations, impact and possible solutions suggested in literature, according to the typology. The conclusion is that Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy improves the safety and efficiency of processes in the professional, scientific, and technical sectors, saving time and resources and enhancing human capabilities, which are limited in several aspects. This provides opportunities for applications to adapt and achieve appropriate and acceptable results, according to needs and requirements.
